Anyone with a computer will tell you there is a lot of information on SLS out there today. Some of it is
good or inconclusive, but for the most part it has some pretty bad reviews. There are studies that show that it can actually cause cancer in some cases. Today we are going to talk about SLS too study the pros and cons. Hopefully you will leave here with enough information to make an informed decision on your own.
SLS is short for Sodium Laureth Sulfate or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which is the gentler of the two sulfates. When ever you are studying sulfates you will hear the word surfactant used quite a bit. Surfactant mean basically the product helps separate oil or grease from a surface. Companies use SLS because it cuts oils and suds up. People think because there shampoo is foamy that it is really good, which is not always true. This just means that it has SLS in it. That is why SLS free shampoo does not foam up nearly as much.
You can find SLS in products ranging from engine degreasers and floor cleaners to toothpaste and shaving foam. The majority of the time there is very little SLS actually found in the products themselves, just enough to make it foam up. So can SLS really harm you? This is a really hot topic. Here is some basic information about SLS, this should give you the tools you need to make your own informed choice.
There have been many scientific studies done that have shown that SLS can be harmful. Some that have even shown that if you use SLS too much it can cause cancer. Once your body absorbs the SLS into it, it has no feasible means of getting rid of it. This can cause the product to build up over time leading to health problems ranging from hair loss to cancer. It is unknown at the current time how long it takes for SLS to build up in our systems.
SLS has been blamed for many sicknesses on the Internet in the past few years. Most of these allegations are just that. The most common way SLS effects people is by allergic reactions so if you are using a shampoo that contains SLS and your scalp becomes sore and swollen it could be a sulfate allergy. Keep in mind it could be other things as well so the only be to really tell is to get an allergy test done by a doctor.
The harmful effects of SLS have also been call a lie. Some people say it was corporate sabotage. One thing to think about is if SLS is that bad for you would 99% of the beauty industry use it? The answer is yes and no. Some complaints would use it just because it is much cheaper the sulfate free ingredients. Others use it but use the most mild form available. Other brands have used it in the past but are slowly converting over. While some beauty makers refuse to use it all together.
Many companies now are introducing sls free shampoos into their lineup of products. They are doing this for people who do not like sls, have severe allergies or have very sensitive skin. One good thing is the easiest way to tell is by simply looking at the bottle to see the ingredient list. SLS free shampoos are not going anywhere soon, they are becoming more popular on a daily basis. So if you feel like your shampoo is holding you down simply look for one that is sls free. You will be glad you did.

Emu oil naturally comes from a patch of fat on the back of bird found native to Australia; it has been used for thousands of years for many different things. Have you ever wondered what is the best hair care products for damaged hair. If you have then we are both in the same agreement everyone claims their products are better
than others. That is why we are looking for the best hair care products for damaged hair.
For years I’ve tried all types of products especially the ones my friends have used. Nothing had seemed to be the right one for me. I have very damaged hair from years of blow drying using the flat iron and just the daily day to day environment. I have always tried to use products that were not harsh to my scalp, but sometimes not everything is perfect.
I was told if I looked online for products and not just in stores I could probably find something that would work for me.
So that’s just what I did. I found a conditioner for dry damaged hair. The conditioner had really made a difference. The active ingredient is natural and is called Emu Oil. Emu Oil is great for all hair types and supplies the hair with a ton of moisture. Emu Oil is also know as a carrier oil which helps penetrate the other natural based ingredients into your scalp which has helped to care for my damaged hair.
I kept looking online to see if there was something else I could use for after shampooing and conditioning my hair and I found a leave in conditioner that is great for damaged hair. You just spray into towel dried hair and style as normal, This product contains Horse Tail extract which is good for strength and shine.
I use these products on a day to day basis and I wouldn’t trade them for any others. My advice don’t just look for convenience you might have to do some serious research online instead of just store to store shopping.

When it comes to hair repair natural is always better so look for shampoos that are naturally based. Also vitamins and minerals play a huge role when it comes to the health of your hair, look for vitamin shampoo, this will help load your hair with the vitamins that it needs. Silk protein is good for you hair as well so find a thick silk protein conditioner this will help patch up the weak areas on the hair follicle. Finding the right deep conditioning treatment for you is very important as well. Look for a treatment that can be used no more than once a week. Any more than that and it will leave your hair oily.
A good moisturizing conditioner is needed as well when your hair starts to dry. This conditioner should be neutrally based like an emu oil conditioner or jojoba conditioner. These conditioners will help once you start to get dry or brittle hair. To get a deep conditioned look you can also use argan oil to help hydrate and style your hair as well. Oils such as emu, jojoba or argan oil help moisturize your hair but do not use to much because they could leave your scalp greasy.
So when it comes to the best hair repair product, its best to find a complete treatment. A good shampoo, conditioner, deep treatment and hair oil can make a world of difference.

Lets face it frizzy hair sucks, its like walking around with a wild animal on your head and if one more person asks if you stuck your finger in a light socket you are going to snap. There are many reasons you can have frizzy hair. Some are due to the enviornment like humidity, extreme heat, cold, or wind. Frizz can also be due to a terrible
hair cut and product gunk that builds up. Using the right products for frizzy hair can leave you with soft shiny hair. So what products are we talking about you may ask? A good shampoo and moisturizing conditioner and leave in conditioner or oil will make a huge difference. By adding these few things to your everyday routine your hair will transform before your very eyes.
Here are a few helpful tips to help keep your hair under control. Don’t wash your hair everyday, this will dry it out, but you should use a leave in conditioner or treatment daily this will help deep condition your hair keeping it soft. If you have wispy hair use a light conditioner to keep it from looking flat. If you have thick hair use a heavy conditioner.
Try to use a deep conditioning treatment once every 7 days. This will help regulate your hairs moisture levels and make it stronger and healthier. A good recipe for a homemade treatment is:
- 1 avocado
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 1 banana mashed
- 3 drops of emu argan, jojoba or olive oil (your choice)
Directions: Mix ingredients together until smooth. Massage into your hair and let sit for 30 min, then rinse in warm water. Let Air Dry.
This will leave you with smooth frizz-less hair, that is soft and well conditioned. The trick you need to remember is finding a product that will work with your hair type and location. If you live in a humid environment find a product that targets humidity. If you live in a dry environment target a product that hydrates the hair. Cream based products are great for hydration and they fight frizz, but make sure they don’t weigh your hair down.
Finally stay away from strong styling products which are made with alcohol. This will dry your hair out and make your frizz 10 times worse. Avoid hot oils which can burn your hair and leave it damaged which will make it frizzy as well.

Their are a ton of products on the market today, but if you have hair like me half of them will not work for you. So
here is a list of products I use that work for my fine hair. These hair care products worked well for me, but i tried at least a dozen before them that just didn’t work.
If you have fine hair like me, a good vitamin shampoo is essential. You want something that will add vitamins and minerals at the same time, which is critical to fine hair. Only use a little bit of shampoo when washing your hair, and don’t rinse and repeat. When you have fine hair there is no need to. Always remember when looking for products that feed fine hair find what works well for you.
Also you want to find a conditioner that adds protein without weighing your hair down. Look for something that is going to protect your hair from thermal, chemical and environmental damages. It should also detangle and fight frizz.
A great product for fine hair is a hair nutrition vitamin, this will help feed fine hair the minerals it needs to become more healthy, stronger and vibrant.
With fine hair shine is the key, so look for a product that is going to add shine to your hair. They can come in spray or serum forms. You only need a little bit because it can weigh your hair down.
Because you have fine hair you will not need to wash your hair every day, so in between washes use a good dry shampoo to help clean and style your hair. They help suck up extra oil and help you get your hair under control.
Another good product to have is a root booster. This will help you get more volume while styling. It is easy to use and helps protect hair as well.
Finally you need a good oil treatment to keep your hair healthy I use an argan oil. I simply get out of the bath put some on my hair, wrap it in a towel and get ready, by the time i get around to fixing my makeup my hair is super soft and smooth, while it cuts drying time in half. It is that easy.
If you have fine hair these things will help you manage it better and in the end get great results without wasting money on products that don’t work.
